Rotating partner volleyball tournaments, run for you

Rotating partner tournaments (King or Queen of the Beach, or "swingers") are a blast to play and a headache to run: who partners whom, who sits out, who has the most points, and how to pair the playoffs fairly. Sideout's Swingers format does all of it.

Sign up solo

Players join on their own, no partner needed. You need at least four.

Partners rotate every round

Sideout uses the circle method so players get a new partner each round and repeat partners as rarely as possible. With an odd number, sit-outs are shared around.

Co-ed if you want it

Turn on co-ed and Sideout pairs a man and a woman on every side as far as the numbers allow.

Individual scoring

Each player earns their side's points in every game. The leaderboard ranks players by total points, then wins. Drop lowest score (on by default) throws out each player's worst game, so one bad draw does not end anyone's day.

Playoffs with new partners

Choose how many players advance. Sideout then pairs them by hat draw (random) or snake draft (first with last, second with second last), mixed pairs in a co-ed event, and runs a single-elimination bracket. Skip the playoffs and the top scorer is champion.

Everything else a tournament gets

Swingers runs on the same engine as every Sideout tournament: games sorted onto your courts, pushes when players are up next, live scores, a feed with photos, and a podium at the end. See the full list on the tournament software page.
