Pools that come out even
Choose how many pools you want. When you lock the roster, Sideout splits the teams as evenly as it can (nine teams make a pool of five and a pool of four) and builds every pool game.
Standings that settle ties the same way every time
Each pool ranks on wins. Ties go to head to head, then point differential among the tied teams, then point differential across the pool. Everyone can see the standings as the scores come in.
You choose who advances
Set how many teams go through from each pool, or let everyone advance.
A bracket seeded from the pools
When every pool game is in, tap Continue to Playoffs. Sideout seeds all the pool winners first, then the runners-up, and so on, rounds the bracket up to the next full size and gives the byes to the top seeds.

Scores lock when the bracket is built
Before the bracket is made, Sideout asks you to confirm. After that, pool scores are locked, so a late correction cannot quietly change who should have been seeded where. You can still fix a score as the director if you have to.

Fewer courts for the playoffs
Pool play might sprawl across every court you have, while the bracket needs fewer. Set playoff courts and the bracket runs on just those.

Single elimination
The bracket is single elimination. The two semifinal losers share third place on the podium.
